...for a flexible definition of "cheaper", that is - still more expensive than some new offerings by other manufacturers. But Manufacturer-refurbished models tend to be not that much cheaper than new.

As-Is is the really cheap stuff, but it's buyer beware.

Yeah, but we're talking night and day in terms of build quality. Apple has handsdown the best quality of materials used in a laptop. Yes it's expensive, but you get what you pay for.
