Re: iPhone 5 Info
Why doesn't the Lightning-to-Dock adapter come with the phone...?
There are millions of accessories that have the dock connector, and now they're all worthless unless you purchase the adapter. Shoot, there are cars that have the 30-pin Dock built into them, and the iPhone 5 will not plug into it without the adapter.
But I have to say, it does come crammed with a plethora of features. Wonder what the iPhone 5S will be like in six months. Incremental improvements?

Re: iPhone 5 Info
The S versions of any phone are a year apart. Just like a regular numbered model such as iPhone 5. Changes to expect would probably be:
Wifi - A/C and D/C support
Camera - More mega-pixel for back and front camera
Processor - A6x processor
Dock Connector - Same type, but supports USB 3.0, Thunderbolt

A/C and D/C...? I keep thinking alternating and direct current.

Theoretically, this specification will enable multi-station WLAN throughput of at least 1 gigabit per second...

Re: iPhone 5 Info
Do you need an ac-compliant wireless card to use that?
I can only see that being useful for LAN stuff. Your internet connection will still be the weakest link.

Re: iPhone 5 Info
Yes you do need the ac wireless card which is not available yet. The only positive thing about this router is the hardware NAT which make internet translation very fast. Awesome feature for gaming.
Re: iPhone 5 Info
Thought so... But what game would require those kind of speeds? The Matrix?
Also, when would smartphones support the ac standard? Not anytime soon, I take it...

Re: iPhone 5 Info
Actually, net gear already has a USB adapter for ac. In the begging of next year u will see phones adapting the technology. Having a wired connection will slower then wireless unless u got fiber optics. This technology will unveil a faster wireless infrustructure giving everyone awesome upload speeds for applications like Dropbox.

Hey, we going to meet up sometime and discuss in-person some junk? I might be up to something Friday or Saturday.

I'd like to thank all of my fellow Soundboard guys for helping Roman get this; this should certainly make our comms a heck of a lot easier, now that I can group-text you all.

If I think about how much high-technology I have in my house, it's really quite amazing - and I don't even consider myself to be at the caliber of tech-geekdom that most of you IT guys are at. I'm a novice at all of this.

Apparently, the runaway cellular data problem isn't fixed. I haven't noticed it, but I'm glad I have unlimited data on Sprint, no matter if it's slow as chilled mollases on the north pole of Eris at Aphelion.
...person who can tell me how cold that is gets a free internet.
