GTX 280 Testing

I'm going to be running some tests on my video card configuration. If you're wondering why I post a lot it's because work is boring and I like doing articles, reviews and testing. Maybe I should get a job with Nvidia, lol.

Anyway, I'm going to run different speeds, etc, but I'm also going to try just SLI. If I can dish out more performance / stability out of 2 x GTX 280's, then I will probably sell one of them.

Benefits of SLI vs 3 Way SLI
-More Airflow
-Less Power Consumption
-Lowers the possibility of problems arising
-More overclocking possibilities

I could overclock the crap out of two of them and avoid water cooling altogether. They have non-water cooling GPU coolers that I could use that are known to drop temps.

Yep. That's me. I didn't do what I said I was going to do because I just can't get into it like I used to. However, I did discover something. Nothing too important, it was just adjusting the fans to 89% on the cards and dropping 15 degrees at stock clocks. That's pretty cool. It went from 60c to 45c at idle. I've been looking at cooling alternatives for the cards that I've found. It's air rather than liquid cooling.

My system is running solid ever since I took out the 1 card. I have only 2 in there now. It hasn't shut off yet. I have a quote below when I posted on the Sli Zone Board.

My comp is only like a year old. I think I've found before about the volts on the rail are not setup for TRI SLI. I can't remember exactly, though. The manufcaturer was not helpful when I called and didn't know much about their own product. I was very disappointed. I was about to pull a Falling Down like Michael Douglas. "All I want is a Whammy burger!"

Seriously, though it's working fine and stable. Same OC for CPU and the OC for the Card is just stock. I do have the fans running at 90% all the time for the computer case. The video cards, not all the time just when I game, are also running at 90%. I don't know if this would be an issue. I thought 100% might be too much. Sound of the fans doesn't bother me.
