My only gripe is for $80 it just doesn't seem like you're getting much.

Supposedly, it's all internal stuff and the software that comes with it - the pic is a screen capture of the interface program. If I wanted flashy, I'd go get the Tarantula for a hundred bucks, but it's huge - can't remove the wrist rest.

I'll make sure to post up my thoughts about it once it arrives and I use it for a bit.

...chomping at the bits for my package to show up in the brown van. I figure I'll hit the common buyer remorse thing once I actually get it and the honeymoon period wears out. However, I now have to find a place to put another keyboard on my desk, and that will be lots of fun.

Another reason why I like Razer stuff - they got firmware upgrade utilities for their stuff, in addition to the typical updated drivers thing.

If you have a Razer mouse (like I do) and it would double-click on you (like mine did ocasionally - most noticeable in G-Mod - I would spawn two somethings with one physical click), they got firmware updates for a lot of their stuff so once you flash new firmware (like I did) you'll have no more problems, hopefully.

...might be a moot point, I might be the only guy running any Razer products...

Got it late tonight. Guess the UPS guy had a lot to deliver - plus he dropped it off with the neighbor next door by mistake, and they ended up knocking on my door and asking me - "Is this yours?" Yup, thanks.

It certainly looks cool - plus I can easily see the keys at night. The LED's provide enough illumination in higher lighting levels so I can read them still. Has the ability to disable the Windows key. Nifty, can't tell you how many times I've ended up dumping out of a game or something by accidentally bumping that. I'm typing this in a pitch black room, and I have no problem seeing either the screen at full brightness or the keys. Rocking. The high-gloss look is nifty looking and they even tossed in a cleaning pas to wipe it down with, as it is a magnet for fingerprints. I was already used to that with the Asus, though, so no biggie. For the guys with the newer Asus models that have the lit board, this doesn't look quite as bright, being blue as opposed to white, but it'll do the trick. No way to change color type, and no way to change intensity - it's either WASD only, all or none. Nice and easy on the eyes, though.

The key travel feels sort of like a crossbreed of desktop and laptop keys, if that makes any sense. Very glossy. Probably would've been fine with the more standard one, lol. I typed a bit in notepad just to get used to it, it is certainly different than the old piece of trash I was used to. There's less vertical travel, and they sound less clickity-clackity than cheapie keyboards.

The rubber feet on the bottom of the unit make it stay put very well. Better than the old keyboard. Definite plus. I hate keyboards that slide around on a whim. Media player controls on the upper right, but my old keyboard had that too. Touchpad-based stuff, so there's no feedback that it did anything until it does it.

What I don't like: The cord for it is thick. Reason: It has to handle headphone, mic, and two USB sets of wires in one bundle, so it's a rather stiff cord. I'd love it if it wasn't as stiff. Nice length, though. The USB slot on the back of the board is only 1.1 rating, but I'm not expecting to plug much of anything into it. Maybe a typical keyboard for more mundane typing chores...? Really, anything I want, maybe I could just shove my thumbdrive into it and be done with the thing. IDK if I'll end up using the audio extender ports, either. Maybe if I'm using this on a desktop rig, I can see using that, so I can easily unplug my headset when I need t, more of a concern if the audio jacks are buried on the tower or something. On the Asus, they're pretty easy to get to. Second dislike: The tilt legging things make it feel weird to use - not sure how to describe it, just weird. Leaving it down. As it's thinner than my odl board, I can leave it down and it still feels right. Third concern: I bet this thing will eat laptop battery life like it's nothing. Since I leave it plugged into the AC adapter pretty much all the time, shouldn't be a big deal for me. Plus, who takes around a full-sized board with their laptop when they're on the go anyway? Oh wait, I did, and looked like a moron for it, lol.

Only fifteen bucks! I had a bunch of geek-points saved, so I got it tacked onto my recent order for FREE.

Razer has good stuff. I used to have a mouse from them. I now have a headset and it works great so far and I BEAT UP my headsets... don't ask why or how it happens cause I can't explain that. It just does.

Headsets:

My wife has ended up killing something like six or seven Logitech headsets. I got sick and tired of buying replacements, so I scored her a pair of Piranha's. I've used them, my only complaint is the volume knob is a wee bit small.

Still, I like the uber-long cord and for geek-cred, the blue LED glow is hard to beat. Sound quality is pretty nice, too.

I might go get a newer 3500 DPI DeathAdder sometime, I have the older 1800 DPI version.

Yes, for once a company did something good and made long headset cords.

I currently am using the new Carcharias headset and it's pretty comfy. It doesn't light up tho :/

I think I want to eventually upgrade my mouse to the Mamba.. it can switch between wired and wireless but it does cost some $$.

Heh, we could in theory go get Razer to sponsor some of us...

I couldn't wait, dropped the dough for the Mamba as you can see!!!
