Current Events of Interest

Post by pvtnum11 on Fri Mar 26, 2010 7:10 pm

Here's one that make me pucker up real fast.

A South Korean corvette (smaller than a frigate) was sunk off of North Korea today. It looks like it was torpedoed. It is confirmed that it sent rounds downrange at something, but what that something is, is not known at this time. 40 out of 100-something crewmembers missing or dead.

Life might get interesting over there, as in "lots of crap hitting the fan real hard" kind of interesting.

It is not known if North Korea was responsible for whatever it was.

I don't think we can afford to have a war over there. Remember the last one? Let's hope it was just a mishap on board and not a precursor to another conflict. Note that North and South Korea are only under a cease-fire, and thus still at war with one another.

Looking like it might have been a mishap on board, and not an attack. More as it developes.

All we need over there is a repeat of the USS Maine...
